The Artificial Turf Rebate Program is a water conservation incentive offered to Riverside Public Utilities' residential water customers who replace existing grass areas with water-saving artificial turf.

What are the benefits of installing artificial turf?

The installation of artificial turf at a typical home can conserve approximately 22,000 gallons of water per year. Artificial turf requires no fertilizer, no pesticides, no mowing, and reduces urban runoff caused by irrigation. It also reduces the amount of green waste going into landfills.

What are the rebate amounts?

The level of incentive is $1 per square foot, up to $1,000.

What do I need to do to receive a rebate?
First, call RPU at 951-826-5485 to schedule a pre-installation inspection to see if you qualify. Next, complete the Artificial Turf Rebate application and attach your ORIGINAL, dated sales receipt(s) and mail to:

Upon receipt, a post-installation inspection will be scheduled before the rebate is issued.

Program Guidelines

• Program is subject to fund availability and may be cancelled at any time.
• This program is available to RPU residential water customers.
• The level of incentive is $1 per square foot up to $1,000.
• Application must be submitted within 90 days of receipt purchase date in order to qualify for rebate.
• The application must be approved by RPU before work begins. Project is subject to inspection prior to installation and upon completion.
• All turf installations must be approved by applicable home owners associations. RPU is not liable for, and does not hold authority over private party landscape restrictions.
• The artificial turf installed must be designed to be water and air permeable. Artificial turf must be installed by the homeowner or a licensed contractor.
• The landscape conversion must be completed within 60 days from the start of the project.
• Program is subject to change without prior notification. Incentives are subject to fund availability, and RPU reserves the right to determine product eligibility.
